Got the big boy wrapped up this morning. This is the largest and most complicated painting I've done this year (19 days - 140-170 hours). Felt like tossing it at some points but I'm really pleased with it and it's very rewarding to get these large pieces through what is at times a very frustrating process. The original is available. Some more #Smaug progress to end the week

A bit more #Smaug progress to end the week. The large paintings are always a bit scary from the time, money and work involved, the insecurity that goes with it and just a wee bit of obsessive compulsiveness. Very glad I have good company to pull me out for a walk, a morning at the market or a Friday night Nick Cave movie... it mostly gets the priorities straight and the head out of the nether regions... which is often needed.
