Listen Series Gallery Show - Gallery M

Some more charcoal and graphite work following up Listen 7. Depression, stress and ultimately hope and faith were in the back of the brain while conceiving and working on this portrait. I really enjoyed the process in regards to using the charcoal to create the hair texture and exploring the new drawing process. First Listen piece of 2016 completed! Halfway through the first run at attempting this drawing I started over. I was fighting with the paper and materials - sometimes it's best just to stop. I started fresh and tried out a new surface and used charcoal as the main rendering tool for the first time. I'm so happy with the results plus finding a new working method that suits my needs and taste - little victories are sometimes the best.

Listen 6 - Job complete : print and original information

Listen 6 - Job 24"x36", Acrylic on Canvas

I wrapped up the 6th portrait in the Listen series over the last couple of days. The model and narrative were inspired by the biblical story of Job and his trials through faith. This has been on the easel off and on for the last three months and it's going to be a bit odd not working on him. I love how it turned out and I'm really happy with how the series is progressing.

The smaller prints are printed on 11"x17" (image area 8.25"x12.25") high quality 100 lbs. archival paper and will be hand signed. There are $33 CAN and include SAH.
